  • I would say that's not very accurate. While we certainly put more emphasis on US History (and I'm quite sure that in Portugal, you'll hear more about Portugese history than you would here) than other countries, world history is not excluded.

    Of course I'm always hopeful that we can expand to include more; but the way most classes are scheduled, teachers are left with only 20-30 minutes a day of actual instruction time. I prefer rotating course schedules, as opposed to having the kids switch classrooms 6-7 times a day.
    What do you think about History Education in the USA...
    I've received some feedback from immigrants stating it's entirely focused on the US history and doesn't cover the rest of the world?
    What's your input on this? :)
