I am really loving these setups for real. Out of all the "Post your setup" threads on the internet now, this (and HDBits) really inspires me to spruce my setup even more.
Ok, this doesn't really work in my situation. In 3 hours, the drive recognizes 50 bad sectors out of like 283249105132419.
So I'm guessing that my data is gone. It's pretty stupid because I can actually read the contents on the drive, it's just whenever I attempt to enter into the folder...
I bought a 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda back in December, and threw all of my HD Movies on there. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed the HDD becoming inaccessible with errors like "delayed write failed" and stuff like that. So I bought a WD Caviar Black 1TB to migrate the data, but now that I have...
Are you serious? Back when I was running an X800 Pro I didn't have any problems whatsoever, and that card is really crappy. I know I can somewhat survive on running just 1080p with the 7800GTX (bluray/hddvd is a different story though). What about the CPU? I'm running on a 5 year old single...
Right now, I have a decent HTPC build off of an old gaming rig plus a few upgraded parts. Here is what I have right now in it:
Case: Silverstone CW02
GPU: EVGA 7800 GTX KO
Mobo: MSI K8N Neo Platinum SLi
CPU: 939 Socket AMD 3500+ (Definitely my weakest link)
Ram: 1GBx2 Corsair XMS (The...

Anywho, the problem has been resolved. I have adjusted the timings, and made a Macro key that just refreshes the desktop. So it all works out in the end. Thanks a lot for everybody's help.
Well, I can get it to play if I put the computer to sleep, and then resume, or wait till it goes to screensaver.
And I can see a big difference to be honest. Especially when viewing movies and what not.
What exactly is HDMI handshaking though?
Alright, now I got it to display in 1920x1080, but when I turn the TV off and then back on, I don't get a picture. I read in an earlier thread that it is because of an HDMI handshaking issue.
Any idea on how to combat this?
I recently got a Sony KDL46V3000, and when I'm trying to hook it up to the HTPC via HDMI, the best res I can get is 1280x720. When I try to go on 1920x1080, the screen goes blank. However, when I run on VGA, I can output at 1920x1080.
I would love to just go with VGA, but I have that port...
