    Just ordered an s2240m this morning. Still on a 17" (c.16" viewable area) CRT right now so this should be quite the upgrade for me. going from 1280x960 not a big jump in vertical res. but one and a half time more horizontal resolution should be NICE.

    Newegg has the S2240M for like $30 less than Dell's own site. Can't figure how they can undercut Dell on one of their own monitors. lol. (Edit: I see other Dell monitors cheaper on newegg too). Does Dell offer better warranty/guarantee when ordering direct from them?

    You'll be fine upgrading to an 8600gt with that power supply. The 8600gt has such a low power draw that it doesn't even require that separate connection directly to the power supply, it gets all it needs through the PCI-E slot.
