Well it's trying to launch it via Launch services... so it's probably all the overhead peer processes that vmware uses (the network crap, etc)
You COULD try to remove the vmware plist /Library/LaunchDaemons, but if you do VMWare won't start if you tried to run it manually.

If I like the app, i will pay for the "premium" version of the app.
If it's an app that only has a paid version, if the app is cheap enough I will outright buy it and eat the cost if I don't like it. But, if it's anymore than say $9.99 I have to read up on it.

Does this happen ALL the time, or only certain times?
do you "lose" the personal hotspot setup when this happens?
