Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Selling my old Socket 775 setup with 771 mod. Would post in FS but cannot. Hope this is not a violation of forum rules to post your own...
Thanks, I saw some stuff about microcode, but thought you only needed to do that if the 771 chip doesn't even boot. Didn't realize that would fix some chip features. Looks like I am missing SSE 4.1, VT-x and EIST.
dam it. Looks kinda intimidating, might give it a shot tonight.
i'm not all that concerned about power. agreed its only a few watts. Only really use this downstairs PC to media stream and some light gaming in the living room so its not even ON that often.
It's more i'm just annoyed all the features are not working.
Thanks,
jimmy
Hi all,
just completed the socket 771 to 775 conversion yesterday. Put in an X5460 e0. Ran a lazy OC at 420x9.5 for 3.99ghz with 1.27v. Have not test it much but did play an hour of DragonAge Inquisition without any issues. Also ran 10 passes on IBT.
I noticed it was running hot...
When I had a P45 board with a q6600, my cpu cooler took up 1 ram spot. I used 3 sticks of gskill 2gb ram. System posted with "Flex" memory enabled. Basically it used dual channel for 4gbs, then single channel when it needed to access the last 2 gb.
Does this still work on newer Intel...
