    Video card upgrade help needed...

I had her bring in the PC last Friday. The PSU is indeed a 350W, but the rails are 13 each for the 12+ and 12-. Also, there are not 6 pin connectors for GPU's at all. So I am recommending a 500W PSU as well as the GTX750ti for her. Thanks all :) Can always count on Hard...

    Best gaming hdd set up?

No benchmarks, but I will say Everquest load time is now 1/2 on a Samsung 840 EVO vs WB Green 640. Zoning times are cut in half or less as well. Don't notice any FPS or smoothness improvements at all tho, so I can't comment on drive access while actually raiding or grouping.

Upgrading SSD - Clone or Just Add Space

The Samsung is faster, I'd put clone and keep it all on the faster drive. Sell the Crucial. If something happens to the Sammy, you're out the OS and games, but you'd be out the games if installed on a 2nd drive anyway. Plus, this way you don't have to worry about making sure you're always...

Thermaltake Big Typhoon for i5 4670K?

Sorry, just edited to add that I am running at 4.6GHz on the stock cooler. Well at least 2 boxing Everquest with maxed graphics, for what it's worth. I'd love to push her as far as she'd go, so will look into what you suggest.

Thermaltake Big Typhoon for i5 4670K?

Recently purchased an i5 4670K with a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UH4d motherboard. Case is an Antec 900. First, will the Big Typhoon even fit properly on this board/CPU? Second, will it provide adequate cooling compared to new air coolers, or AIO water cooling systems? The Typhoon was helping my...

    GTX 770 4GB vs 2GB in SLI @ 2560x1600

Seeing as I am currently looking at upgrading to a GTX770 4GB ($355 PNY on Amazon), this thread interests me a lot. For peace of mind, and a minimal price increase over the 2GB, would $GB be good just to have? Granted, it may not be utilized a lot, but a good hedge bet on future games? I...

Thanks for this, might be a few hours too late tho :) I stopped into Microcenter last night to "look around" and I happened to see the clearance table as you mentioned. So I ended up with a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H for $114 after the $30 combo discount. For the price, a $229 board for $114...

The question, while vague, is what build centered around an Intel i5 follows my parameters/needs? So for your recommendation, the 3570K is stout enough for a few years then move to an i7? I see Amazon has a few Gigabyte Z77 boards. 3570K prices are used around $200-220, with a few auctions...
