Just a rough estimate, how much extra would it cost to build into an i7? Would I be looking over $1k?

Some people are telling me that i7's are pretty much mandatory for clear streaming. Trying to view all my options before I do a serious buy as I wanna get something that will last like my current PC and be good for streaming.
