Think this is a PSU problem

Put a new PSU in my system, loaded up dota2 and got the same crash. Put a new motherboard in the system, just played 1 hour of dota2 and all was good. Guess that's the last EVGA board I buy. thanks for the suggestions guys.

Think this is a PSU problem

Thanks Tsumi, that helps give me confidence that the XFX 650 will suit my needs for the foreseeable future. I'll probably always stick to a single GPU since upgrading to a new one every other year has kept my system feeling fast enough to play the newest games on decent settings.

Think this is a PSU problem

Being the master of impatience, I just ordered these two parts and started the return process for the EVGA board. XFX XTR 650W Gigabyte Black Edition Z97 GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Hope it works...

Think this is a PSU problem

Insanely stupid? I would think the 1300W version would qualify me for the insanely stupid category. Regardless, maybe this seasonic would fit my build better? Would that have enough headroom to keep adding stuff to my build for the next 5 years like my pc power and cooling one did? On the...

Think this is a PSU problem

So I just put together a mostly new rig for playing Dota2 and because I was way overdue to upgrade my old Core2 Duo. Anyway, after getting everything together and running I'm finding that Dota crashes almost every time. Some times it takes 30 minutes or so, but eventually the screen locks up...

    EVGA Z97 FTW

Anyone have experience with this board from EVGA? I'm debating between it and the ASUS Z97-PRO. I've had great luck with EVGA and their customer service. I'm actually still running my old EVGA 780i and love that board.

    Gaming Sound Card

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I will go with the FORTE or Titanium based on the recommendations and what I can actually find. [edit] ok... who is the a-hole who went out and bought the last refurb FORTE?

    Gaming Sound Card

You know, it does. You can get a better look here, but the article does not seem to mention the potential difference.

    Gaming Sound Card

Has anyone heard anything about this audiotrack card? Looks like another X-Fi repackage so probably the same deal as the Forte. It seems to have a little better availability too. http://www.audiotrack.net/products/PD71eXFiA/

    Gaming Sound Card

I never really hated my bgears card. I had a chip on it blow out in the first year and the people at bgears fixed the card for me. After that fix, things never were the same. I ended up sending it back to them two more times, both past the warranty date, and they "fixed" it each time...

    Gaming Sound Card

I'm assuming the two recommendations are for the Creative entry. Have either of you guys checked out what AuzenTech has created with their Forte? It uses the creative X-Fi chip on a custom board. They also tweak the drivers a bit and offer a compelling product...

    Gaming Sound Card

I'm finally sick of my bgears sound card and the random bugs that keep showing up so it is time for another. I mostly game, so I figured I should probably get a gaming-optimized sound card. I've got the choices narrowed down to the following cards, all are under or slightly above my $100...

    A new work build

Just switched out the Athlon with an Opteron. supposedly the increased cache will make my apps a little snappier, right? To be able to afford this switch, I changed the X800 with a 6800 and the OCZ psu to a FSP one. This is starting to shape up nicely. Someone else also suggested...

    A new work build

raptor updated. cd writer is gone. i'll replace the segate with a 250 gig one. i still am having a lot of problems deciding on a video card. it seems stupid to buy a gaming card for what i'm doing. should i get a fireGL card instead? and yes, shipping exists in a different part of the...

    A new work build

Save money? This is a work budget and it does not know the meaning of save. If i could think of something different to get for $20, I would.
