[H] users 7970 Overclock Results thread

A Little help :) I consider my self a relatively adept overclocker but my Sapphire 7970 Dual-X (not the OC version) card has me baffled. It runs 950/1425@1,175V stock. I got it to 1150/1600 @ stock voltage hitting 75 degrees with 100% GPU after a 10 min burn. Method: 25Mhz increase on core...

    4870 on OC'ed system with E6600

Alrighte, I think I have narrowed it down abit. It seems that whenever i OC my CPU above 3Ghz'ish my motherboard tosses 1 long beep and 3 short (Video card error) during BIOS boot, then it waits 5 sec and reports the std 'everyting is ok' beep and boots up normally (BIOS shows up on screen)...

Holy crap... That intel burn test just slammed my temps up to >74 before i could stop it :D I'll try finding a frequency where the intel burn test passes and stays sub 65 deg. I will post results tomorrow :) Atleast I have a possible 'Error' now. Thanks. /JohnnyGoofy

    4870 on OC'ed system with E6600

Hi. My temps after 4h of orthos is 63-64 on both cores. When i run 3,6Ghz the ram is running 1:1 @ 400Mhz, RAM timings are manually set to the specified 4-4-4-12 by crusial @ 400Mhz I will test with Intel burn test and let you know how it goes /JohnnyGoofy

    4870 on OC'ed system with E6600

Sure. the 3,6 Ghz has passed 4h orthos, but only small FFT. PSU is a crosair HW620W :) I also thought it was due to instability at first, but why then does the 8800GT scale just fine? /JohnnyGoofy
