Finally under 30m TPF on -bigadv

    It's not stable at anything below 1.36 / 1.475. I've spent the last 2 weeks testing/tweking it.

Finally under 30m TPF on -bigadv

Guys - Thanks for the concern, but based on this http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=632366 I'm not that worried as my temps are still decent. Plus, I buy CPU's with the expectation that I'll kill it :) But, it's never happened yet!! I have an old Athlon XP that I still run at...

4 GHz @ 1.2 Vcore!? Wow and holy shit!! I have to ask - what MB and cooler are you using? And what are your other voltages / seetings?

    microcenter

Wow - for what it's worth I am also in the area. Just came from the MC on 355 in Rockville this afternoon. It was a MAD house though and I didn't feel like waiting in line just for a $5 fan.

Finally under 30m TPF on -bigadv

Well hell and damn! Moments after my last post I found the computer frozen. Didn't lose the WU but did lose about 15% in progress. Upped vcore and QPI another notch. If this doesn't prove to be stable I think I'll have to settle on 3.9GHz :(

Finally under 30m TPF on -bigadv

Axdrenalin - Folding bigadv I am generally in the high 70's - 80, and over the last 24 hours the hottest core peaked at 83. This is with CPU vcore @ 1.36 and QPI/VTT @ 1.475. I have a pretty good feeling going above 4GHz is going to take a lot more voltage, and won't be worth it. I'm happy at...

    Noctua NH-D14 + GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R

None at all. I've read this can be attributed to enabling the power management functions of the i7 / X58. I run my rig with all of that diabled.

Finally under 30m TPF on -bigadv

I must say that I also am really enjoying the GA-X58A-UD3R MB. Had mine for about a week or so, with a Noctua NH-D14, 6 gigs of OCZ Gold, and Nxzt Tempest EVO. I'm new to i7 OC'ing and still fine tuning to get it stable @ 4.0 Ghz. (Damn thing is IBT stable but not bigadv stable @ 4.0 Ghz...

    Noctua NH-D14 + GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R

I can't say. I've been a fan of the MX-2 for awhile now and that is what I used. Never even tried the TIM that comes with it. I'm still fine tuning everything, but as of now I peak at about 83 in Intel Burn Test on core 0 (which is always the hottest of the 4 cores).

    Noctua NH-D14 + GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R

I have this combo, along with this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365, in this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146062. I have the HS exhausting/facing up. I have no problems with 3 sticks in the 'white' slots, and it does not...

    Year 1, and counting

New 4 core 1 VM setup??? (perk!) I thought the free player only did 2 cores max per instance? Actually I don't mind running 2 VM's at all. It's just before the new WU's I was getting about 3,300 PPD per instance, and now it's about 2,100 PPD per instance. It's just hard to go back down in...

    Year 1, and counting

Well it doesn't really feel like a year ago that I began folding for the [H]orde. But I'll be damned if today isn't my 1 year anniversary! 5.4 million points in a year - that ain't half bad! Funny too, I remember starting out, at first not even keeping track or being on a team. Back then I...
