I just went to my parents for christmas and my dad was playing Rome Total war.
It took 15-20 seconds to simply scroll a few inches over. His computer is like 12 years old.
So I want to get him a cheap budget computer, a Dell or HP. Has anyone spotted any good deals lately? He only surfs...
I am looking to upgrade my 64GB SSD, and I have 300 or so I can spend.
I was wondering if

Is still a really good deal.

Everything seems like rather good choices from I've gathered over the last few weeks. I didn't see a SSD in there anywhere. That would provide quite a boost for your OS and gaming side of things.
I would suggest taking the 2500k and adding a SSD in there.
Or atleast getting a SSD at some point. You will see a much higher gain in performance with one over a slightly better CPU.
I had a very similar budget of 1200, and ended up spending $1,152.55.
The only real difference I came out...
At which end? Does it crash when you wiggle it at the computer, or at the connectors in the Joybox to ps2 end.
Is there a different USB you can try plugging it into?
If its on the joybox side, you can try just replacing it. If its at the computer side and moving it to a new USB port doesnt...
