They can still update them this year with Haswell refresh and Nvidia 800-series Maxwell mGPU so they will update the rMPB soon, just not with Broadwell.

It is very hard to find any details on SSD failures in the enterprise market, particularly in datacenter environments so it is pretty hard to make a educated decision if i should go with an SSD or not, in a workstation, gaming rig etc the decision is easy (SSD:s of course).
