nah, i ordered a 3800XT for £327 about an hour before the 5xxx series release. not fighting for the privelege to spend an extra £90 that will net me 1 extra FPS at the resolution i play at. 3800XT dropped £40 -and came with farcry6 - so i jumped.

i have an internal slot loading M-Disc DVD drive from LG, has been working nicely with the 25x disk Verbatim packs available from amazon.

cheers all, interesting discussion all round. this is what prompted my question really: i have just bought one of those WD D10 12TB 'xbox' drives for use as internal storage, for the princely sum of £180, and wondering when I would be able to buy an 8TB bus-powered external drive to partner...

We got 5tb 2.5inch drives in 2016. We now have easily available 3.5inch consumer drives at 14tb, nothing exotic. Feels like we should have got 6tb 2.5inch in 2019, and should at least have seen product announcements for 8tb by now... Where did it all go wrong?

haha, new this discussion would generate interest in the end. my X570 tomahawk has a USB internal header, where my Gigabyte B550 ITX does not...

Thoughts? Solid kick in the sack. Given they support HDMI 2.1 when used with a compliant B550 board these would make great HTPC chips. I have the Gigabyte B550 itx on pre-order... wondering how long i'll have to wait for a 4700G.

i guessed at $225. pre-order was £218, i believe it has gone up to £229 now.

i'm including VAT (@ 20%), which i believe is not normal practice in retail dollar pricing, so probably closer to $225?] yes, when this board was first announced they were talking about a $190-200 price range, but in the mean time we've seen a global pandemic that has knackered manufacturing...

i bought it as a pre-order from overclockers.co.uk for £218. they have had a second batch of stock around a week after the first.
