Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Sorry I wasn't specific enough.
I don't need routing, just a single 1U switch that supports the following:
I need to be able to disable VLAN1 untagged/pvid on most of the ports except for 1, and enable VLAN1 tagging on a couple of ports. The vast majority of low cost 'smart' switches and...
Ok, strange request I know... but I need to put a rack mounted 16 or 24 port gigabit managed switch into a Gator rack case like this one:
http://**************/1EQaGsJ
So the switch needs to be less than 19 inches deep... which wouldn't normally be the problem... Tons of managed switches are...
I've got a similar setup using XCP (basically XenServer 6)... I use the xenbackup: https://code.google.com/p/xenbackup/
This creates a xen snapshot, and then exports it to an nfs or cifs share. Which in my case is a zfs pool... This gives me portable xva files, that are self contained...
As I stated in the post, I can't use these types of adapters because it is a 1U case, and only has a single pcie slot for the HBA, no place to put one of those adapters.
So the HBA *must* have an external port.
Those are all 6Gb/s - PCIe 2.0 cards... aren't there any 3Gb/s cards? Or even better yet something that is rebranded with the correct chipset that can be found on ebay cheap?
Ok, I have an Intel S5000PSL based motherboard ( http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/apac/eng/products/server/boards/dp/s5000psl/feature/index.htm )
and I need to find a compatible HBA SAS card with an external SFF-8088 connector to connect to an external JBOD enclosure.
I'm like...
The systems I'm looking at above, only have a single slot to use, so a external bracket really isn't an option... and they don't have pice 2.0 slots... so would I really see any performance increase by using these types of cards? Also the external SAS enclosures I have are 3Gb/s as well...
You're joking right? First, my proposed built is more than 21 drives day 1... Second performance would be a serious issue... Third, no iscsi support?
No de-duplication support...
Please more serious suggestions.. unraid is probably good for small setups(frankly I'd rather use freenas...
Ok, I'm looking for some input on a new NAS setup for my home office, I'll go over my current setup, space requirements, and my thoughts for a solution. Any feedback is more than welcome...
First, I want to keep the cost reasonable, less than $1000 for sure before storage... Also keeping in...
