My friend bought the TV and I hooked up my laptop to it via dvi-hdmi and it worked perfect. There was a setting you had to change on the tv if i remember correctly so it didn't over/under scan or something.

That is exactly what I want to do. He did a really good job. I wanted to do it w/ a 17 glossy screen like the ones found in the some of the laptops. I guess I can settle for a normal desktop LCD. I wish he wrote a review on how to do this. Any ideas on how I should get started?

Can someone post a link to some charts showing width and height for each size lcd. Also the pixels per inch for each size and resolution. Do any of you know the formula for figuring this out?
