Thanks for all the fish ...

I came back to just make sure you stayed [H]ard! Wait, that just doesn't sound right... :) Seriously, though - as someone who blissfully missed all the recent drama, I'm glad you're not leaving just as I'm getting back in the swing of things!

Hit a WCG (World Community Grid) milestone? Post it here:

Well, in the four plus years since I last posted, I've gotten my 10 year badges in OpenZika and Outsmart Ebola, am at 8.5 years on MIP, and only need 74 days to get my 5 year badge in FightAIDS Phase 2...

    Which Chat Do You Prefer?

I'm mainly a Band user right now for my ESO Guild, but I also have Slack for my Waze editor group. Hate Discord from old experience with a crappy android app!

    Wow, you're all still here! What'd I miss? :-)

Hey all! I know it's been a while (or several years), but I just managed to recover my password to the email linked to this account, and then reset my access to the forums... I've been lurking on and off for the past few years, but life has had me so busy I just didn't have a chance to do more...

    WUProp badges and recognition

I'm such a slacker - I've been two apps away from my first star turning Sapphire, three apps away from my second star turning Ruby, and two apps away from my third star turning bronze for months now... To focused on other things and I forget to check thing one...

Hit a WCG (World Community Grid) milestone? Post it here:

Gold Outsmart Ebola Together. And a non-badge milestone - thanks to some hex-core X5670 goodness, I nailed my first 20 day runtime day for WCG! So at that rate, I should have 6=7 days to Ruby, two weeks to Emerald, and Sapphire by the end of the month.... :D

Well, I gave it a good try, but all the way to 1.35V, and I couldn't get more than 45 minutes of Prime 95 without getting at least one error or a freeze/reboot. So going to stick with the 4.3GHz @1.30625V for now - good Voltage, low enough temps, and solid sounds like a good combo to me, and...

Me too - best $25 heatsink I've ever had! Thanks, I think that's what I'll do tomorrow. Although for the voltages, I may just back it down to 4.2 and run it there - like a lot of others on here, I'm not sure that much extra voltage & heat is worth and extra 100 - 200MHz... But I have to try...

Okay, so here's an update on my P6T Deluxe & X5670: - First, to understand the weird voltages, know that the P6T works on increments of 0.00625V... - 4.0 (21x191) was just fine at 1.2875, 4.2 (21x200) ran just fine with a small bump to 1.29375. - Tried 4.4 (22x200) @ 1.3V, got a frozen system...

    DC Vault 2

Now that my X5670 is up and running, I'm adding POGS into the mix for WUs with low memory requirements to offset Rosetta and NFS. Once I hit some personal goals on those two, I'm switch over all 20 threads to POGS for a while, hopefully that will speed up our overtake of BOINC@Poland and get...

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

So is there a reason 3000-3300 is recommended? Leaving the uncore on auto in my BIOS has it at about 3380 when I'm at 4.0 GHz (191x21) - too high? And just as an FYI, these P6T Boards are a bit lacking in multipliers when it comes to setting memory. After I set the blck, I typically only...

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

Thanks for the tips - I'll keep that in mind, but the reason I was going to start with my 3.8 settings is that they are almost identical to your recommendation! For 3.8, I've been using 181 bclk x 21 @ 1.34 vcore, and for 4.0, I just bump bclk up to 191 and vcore up to 1.36. I know I...

Okay, here you go - SUCCESS! Glad I didn't just give up on that first bad CPU... Running it at stock settings for tonight to give the AS5 some burn in and to get me some sleep. Tomorrow night I'll load my BIOS 3.8GHz settings for my i7-950 to start and fire up some Primegrid... But...
