Don't be silly, I'm talking about cpu bound vs IO bound processes. Normal applications you'd use on a home computer are interactive and exhibit "bursty execution" - cpu burst -> IO burst -> cpu burst -> wait for io -> etc.. You're not going to be browsing the forums, playing minesweeper...
