Some questions about Seagate 3TB hard drives

Had 3 out of 8 purchased Seagate 3TBs fail on me only a couple of days after I started using them (bad sectors developed). Took them back to the store I got them from and had all 8 changed straight up (even though 3 were faulty) and got Toshibas - have not had a problem since and that was well...

Well while I was meaning to check out Gigabytes new range of gaming peripherals from their "Aivia" lineup, I was pretty impressed (as I had never used a Gigabyte product which wasn't a motherboard or something). What do you guys think? I managed to do a couple of Unboxing / Review videos seeing...

Well majority of my raids do over 400-500mb/s - and friends raids are even faster. Using a 10gbit card which I also run and so do they, can get 15TB copied in under a night Works well for Lan parties too, all the users can get what they want in an acceptable amount of time

How can you consider it "worst" when it's not setup to your standards for its purpose? It suits me absolutely fine, I can store all my movies and media on large raids, have great speeds and get everything I need.

IBM M1015 not properly recognising 3TB drives

Hey Guys Went to move some 3TB drives to my M1015 raidcard tonight and they won't properly see themselves as 3TBs? They're seen as 2.000TBs as per the screenshot https://dl.dropbox.com/u/66703777/dafuq.png Aren't these cards supposed to read 3TB+ straight off? Whats happened...

Is this a dying drive ?

One of the things I'd be doing if this was my drive would be checking more thorough performance using Hard Disk Sentinel - it's just what i've been doing a lot lately, but to be honest if it is under warrenty, the drive benchmark obviously is showing what it should not be doing

M1015's and Sas expanders - again

So is that theoretically speaking I could have 4 arrays consisting of 16 drives per array which would add up to 64 drives total? Pretty much I'm just trying to find out how many drives total can I run off the sas expander that can be made up into Raid0 arrays Just trying to understand it...

M1015's and Sas expanders - again

Hey Guys Probably posted before, but I have an M1015 IBM Raidcard, and am interested in wiring it into a sas expander. How many drives am I supposed to hang off it in Raid0? Site says 64 Non-raid or "16 per volume on Raid 0" Does this mean I can make arrays with only max 16 HDD's per each...

The [H]ard Forum Storage Showoff Thread - Post your 10TB+ systems

Did a bit of a changeover tonight, got rid of the cheapo Thermaltake Armor case I picked up and went to a bitfenix shinobi case. Wanted to make it look a bit nicer seeing as it now sits next to my TV for use as a media-server type thing, downsizing it from 40TB to 26TB and moving some drives to...
