    I should point out Im in Europe and this monitor is considerably more expensive than $500 here. Is this really the kind of price I need to spend to get a quiet monitor that can do 1900x1200? I did expect cheaper.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but it really does have to be 1900x1200(the work Im doing needs that real estate) and the noise thing is a big issue for me. I really want a quite monitor. I am willing to pay the extra for a monitor that would cover both these things.
