Awesome. I'm planning on getting a better HSF, just didn't have it in the budget when I built the system. But the temptation to OC just got to me. And thus far, it's running beautifully, stable as hell.
What, in general, are considered acceptable temps for AMD CPUs? I've got my X2 3800+ overclocked to 2.2 Ghz right now, and while it's running perfectly stable (so far at least), it's pretty warm. 36C idle, and 52C after a couple of hours of Prime95. I'm only using the stock HSF, so I...
Damn...you go to work for ten hours and come back and there's a million replies. Thanks for all the help, guys. Yeah, my version of XP is an original release, and I didn't know a thing about slipstreaming until this very thread. Thanks again, that should fix me right up.
I just checked WDs site, and they say you need a controller card hooked up to the drive during install in order for XP to see the total space. The only problem is, all their controllers are for ATA ultra drives. Shit, man, if I would've known all this I would've stuck with a 120GB drive to...
This may be a total noob question, but honestly I didn't have any idea what I should search for to find out if this is a known problem. Here it is:
Just put my new system together and in the BIOS it recognizes the drive for what it is, 250GB, but when I went to install XP, it saw it as 130GB...
Thank you so much! Did the paper clip thing, and the PSU turns right on. So I'm thinking "Oh, what the hell, let's try it again." IT boots right up, and even passes POST. I don't know if the damn thing just needed primed or what, but apparently that did the trick. Thanks gentlemen.
Also, I forgot to put this in, but the tester is made for a 20pin connector. This is a 24pin PSU, but the extra 4 detach, so that's what I used. Should this make a difference?
So I finally got everything today, for my new system. Get it all put together and....nothing. The mobo light is on, but no fans starting up or anything. So I pull out my handy-dandy PSU tester and...nothing. I think it's dead. It is plugged in, and it is switched on in the back...Out...
Lol, funny you should mention that, I was just reading the thread in gaming about why people hate cs:s so much. I actually don't game online much, but I am think of trying out WoW. Actually I'm looking forward to installing any game on this thing. Compared to my current setup (Sempron...
I don't what each price was, I'd have to look it up on the reciept, but the total price was $1245.00 shipped. More than I should have spent, but well worth it for what I got, I think. And you can't beat ZZF's free 2nd day fedex. Everything except the case was shipped free.
