Currently; I'm using a $1,800 40" Sony Bravia XBR 240hz LCD as my computer monitor (I RARELY watch tv). I'm thinking about selling it and getting multiple, smaller displays. I have a secondary GTX680 on order, so, pumping said displays shouldn't be an issue.
I'm just looking for opinions...
Agreed with the wattage statement. However; I've found that the plastic layover helps a great deal. My buddy took his off and the temps stayed the same. He did; however, buy new fans to replace the ones that came with the board (after he put back the layover). Dropped the temps by +/- 3° C
Well; during POST; as you folks know; it shows Gen2. I dug around my nV Control Panel and it shows my card to be running Gen3.... I suppose the POST is maybe a failsafe so to speak?
I went with the Z77 Sabertooth.
I basically bought it for the features and just how simply amazing it looks. It's very reliable (other than my Gen3 POST issue I'm having) and its just beautiful in my CaseLabs Magnum M8 case =]
I had the same issue; well, sort of; with my XFX 7970... I RMA'd it back to XFX and they said nothing was wrong...
Whilst RMA'd, I went out and bought a GTX680.... ZERO issues.
Radeon seems to be bad news I guess...
