Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Phrik is right.
Pay for Dropbox, Box or Google Drive. No need for hardware with a 10GB requirement.
Freenas is a terrible suggestion if it's actually 10GB of data, and there's a non-technical requirement. Heck, Google Drive comes with 15GB free!
Figure out which interface you like supporting...
I played Half Life 2 on the Oculus DK2, it was pretty amazing feeling, but did not feel like an integrated product. The wow factor was pretty substantial though.
Not enough to get me to replay the whole game though.
Nice sized drive, though this kind of thing is another nail in the coffin of RAID-5.
Makes me pause a bit when running RAID-Z2 even. Do you all think it makes sense to stay a size or two behind the cutting edge and up the number of HDDs a bit instead of rlying on these huge platters?
Didn't know about those, will have to check them out, thanks!
Those big drives make me pretty nervous though for re-silvering and other related operations. I usually like to stay at least 1 size behind the maximum drive size of the day. That might just be me being spooked though.
Raid-Z2 is a good option, but keep in mind that you'll need to learn about the host operating system either in Freenas, OpenBSD or something similar. There's a non-trivial learning curve there.
I would agree, and posted myself in that very thread a couple of months ago when the deal was going around. Got the 27" myself for $475 and was very pleased.
Waiting for a better price / deal -- such is the conundrum of building computers! Thanks for pointing out the possibilities with the 27"...
Grab the very well reviewed Dell 24" gaming monitor for $475, and get a $75 gift card as well. At a net price of $400, you're about 70 bucks under the lowest price that CCC has seen.
I have the 27" inch version and love it. The bezel is quite thin and a site to behold. This is not your typical...
That's too bad about the saved lists and the downloads, but not too surprising given publishers' concerns around DRM. I can also recommend No Starch Press as an excellent, DRM-free alternative if you'd rather own your material, as opposed to rent.
It's good to have options!
