For adjusting my price from $1,830 to $1,644, Dell asked me to return the monitor that I had ordered earlier and they send me another one as part of a new order. The new one that I got is much better.
There is still some back light that I see, but overall this one is much better than the...
As far as I can tell the reviews also pointed to 305T being the best 30 inch. I thought Dell 3008WFP will improve over that, but obviously thats not the case and that seemed to be confirmed by the reivews which have rated 3008WFP quite low. Hopefully, we will get some reviews on NEC 3090WQXi as...
I don't know about 30" S-IPS and S-PVA panels, but I know for sure that the Dell 2407WFP that I have sitting in my office looks much better than Dell 3008WFP that I have sitting in my home.
- I see sparkles on 3008WFP, but not on 2407WFP.
- There is obvious backlight leakage in the corners...
I am starting to think that decision to buy a monitor is based on which one is the least defective rather than which one has the most features. I really hope NEC 30" is different, but I won't be surprised if there are issues there as well.
Any reviews from people going to MacWorld?
Just saw some specs of NEC LCD3090WQXI

From the description, it appears that it kicks Dell 3008WFP's ass. Just wondering if they use the same panel as Dell 3008WFP or not.
You mean the panel in 3008WFP is not manufactured correctly or is there some design issues that inherently make the panel leak more backlight. If it is a manufacturing problem, I assume it will be corrected soon?
Here is what mine looks like at those settings
After uploading the picture into the computer, I looked at both the picture and monitor at the settings that you specified and it appeared that the backlight leakage in the picture is exaggerated as compared to the real monitor. Plus, my camera...
Yes, thats how it looks in person if I were to turn off all the lights in the room. When lights are on I can still see some bleeding in the upper left corner, but can't see any Bottom right corner bleeding.
Not sure under what setting you too the pic, but here is what mine looks likes. My desktop background is set to black and brightness is set to lowest level
What setting did you put the monitor into to take the back light picture. Let me know and I will try to take one here for comparison in the evening when it gets darker.
