Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
About a week ago, one of my hard drives began acting up, so I removed it, and got a new one, did a fresh OS install, and once I verified everything was working, I plugged in my damaged drive to copy some data off of it. Everything worked fine, I got most of my data off the drive, and shut down...
It looks like the NEC only has one DVI connector. So would it be possible to connect both the ps3 and the computer to it at the same time? (Without using the vga connector)
EDIT: whoops...just noticed it has a displayport connector too.
I recently used spinrite on 2 dead HDDs that I couldn't even boot into windows with. After running level 2 tests on both drives, I managed to boot into windows and recover most of the data on the drives.
Not sure of the model, its my bro's comp, but its not more than 3 years old.
The machine that the card does work on, has a HEC 350w psu. Is there anyplace I can get the power reqs for a card of this type? I would guess a 3 year old dell would have at least that too...will try to find out...
If it was the PSU, would the fan on the video card fail to spin up? On the machine that doesn't work, the fan spins up.
Not sure what type of agp slot is on the motherboard. Its a dell if that helps.
I'll try to find out tonight.
My bro tried installing a 6600 (AGP) into his machine, and he says nothing shows up on his monitor when he starts up the machine.
I just tried the card on an old comp I have here, and it works fine. I set it up the same way he did, with the monitor connected to the vga port, and hooked up...
I have a asus vanilla p5b mobo with on-board sound. Everytime I start windows (xp pro) the volume is set to 0 and I have to manually adjust it. Anyone run into similar problems? its really annoying.
I flashed to the 0309 bios (i have the vanilla p5b), still no luck though. Maybe it b/c I don't have my chassis fan connected to the chassis header?
ahh well, its not a big deal, but would be nice to know why it doesn't work.
I just put together a new comp, with a asus p5b mobo
When I boot and go into the bios, and goto the hardware monitor section, the comp seems to hang. I left it there for about 3-5 mins, and nothing.
I don't know if this is related, but when I start up I get an error that reads:
"Intel CPU...
Building my first computer, and I have an Antec SmartPower 450w powersupply. There are about 6 cables coming out of the power supply. Two with 4 pin molex connectors, two for sata, one 24 pin and one 4 pin for the motherboard, and a 6 pin for the video card.
As I understand it, you are...
