The items used are:
Magicool 540 (180x3) radiator.
XS-PC Dual Bay reservoir for D5 pump.
XS-PC D5 Vario.
Alphacool 13/10 fittings x 8.
EK 45 degree fittings x 3.
EK HF Supreme Nickle Plexi.
AC GTX 680 Lightning full cover block.
Masterkleer clear tubing.
EK Blood Red...
It's connected to the reservoir with a 45 degree fitting, and likewise with the radiator. I have used a few straps on the tubing to avoid it from kinking - just to be on the safe side.
The temps are quite nice. The 3930k gets to about 65c with the fans on "low" and the D5 on "2". If I have the fans on "high", I believe I get like 3c lower. The 680 Lightning stays in the 40s during gaming and the highest I have seen it yet is 48c with Planetside 2 raping it :p And a quite...
It has been a while since I last did any real posting on [H], but it's good to see, that the old FT02 thread is still alive :D Here is how my rig looks at the moment:
I changed from dual DDC to a single D5 with the XSPC reservoir.
I changed from 6950 CF to a single GTX 680...
It has nothing to do with the fans or radiator. I have the 3x180 version in my rig with a 3930k@4.7, motherboard VRM and a MSI GTX 680 Lightning @1400 MHz core - so my wattage should be above that of the OP.
The GPU stays under 50c with the fans at low rpm and my D5 at "2". The CPU is about 65c...
If you use a bit of LLC, it will keep the voltage stable. If the current configuration isn't causing any problems, you could use manual voltage of 1.14 I guess.
I must say, my 540 Magicool performs quite well with 3 AP181 in pull. My 3930k maxes at about 65c on the hottest core during many runs of IBT Maximum. During standard IBT it will hardly reach 60c on the hottest core. That's all at 4.7GHz.
As far as I know, the 670 gtx uses a short pcb design?

And as far as I can see, the Gigabyte 680 OC (the one you call windforce? The one with three fans?) is not reference.
If you want to watercool...
Your build is awesome as usual. I have always admired your work. Especially your yellow TJ11.
I was wondering, if you care to tell me, how you achieve the straight rigid tubing - specifically the part that runs behind your reservoirs. I have a long tube running horizontally, and have achieved...
I just got a 3930k and an Asus Rampage IV Formula. I will be populating the last two slots soon, when I get the last of my RAM back from RMA.
I want to change the color of the tubing. I'm really keen on the clear tubing with blood red coolant, but I don't think I will get it - kinda afraid of...
You can clean copper with a lemon and some salt and I guess you could use vinegar and hot water to clean aluminium.
I have only cleaned copper myself - never tried the aluminium.
