Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Does anyone have a link to the AMK 1.4 mod for Stalker? I need one that's compatible with Vista 64 bit. I've searched on Google and haven't found any links to a valid download.
Sorry, I was mistaken - those three settings are on LOW - not medium. Everything else is High. I'll run it a gain and post a screen shot of the results later.
min fps: 21.62
max fps: 44.99
avg fps: 32.37
1680x1050
All settings High except the following which, were on Low:
-volumetric processing
-shaders
-particles
No AA
Keep in mind that this is with a year old PC.
CPU: core2duo e6300 @ 2.8GHz
RAM: 2GB Gskill 5-5-5-15 DDR2 800 @ 1:1

Maybe I'm missing something but, I'm not seeing a reason for all the whining I've been seeing around the web about poor performance. I downloaded the demo a few nights ago and played through it entirely and it was fun. No slideshows like I was expecting. I ran the GPU timedemo a few minutes ago...
Well, I fixed it. I went to the Asus site and downloaded the user manual for this board here:
http://support.asus.com/downlo...d.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Then followed the instructions for resetting CMOS. This included removing the battery, disconnecting power and moving the CMOS jumper.
That...

I think I just killed my BIOS. I performed a BIOS update to the latest version using the Asus Update utility in Windows. It prompted me to reboot after updating the BIOS. After it shut down the PC I can't get back into Windows. Now when I boot it up all of the fans come on and the...
The 7950GT at stock performs within a few frames/second (or 1-2%) of the 7900GTO at stock. Since I got the KO SC one it's actually faster than stock and probably performs slightly better or at worst the same as the 7900GTO. It's also quiet at idle.
I'm not happy about it because I wanted...
Initially, I thought it would be better to RMA through EVGA since people were telling me that they often send back a better card if they're out of stock. I got the run-around for two days with people telling me to send the photos of the damage so that they could forward them to the RMA...
Sorry for the late reply.
I RMA'd my 7900GTO 2 weeks ago because it was damaged during shipping. When I called EVGA to report the issue they refused to open an RMA and strongly recommended that I go through the vendor instead. I did that and Newegg sent me a replacement card. Since there...
Get a DVD recorder with a built in VCR player. That will give you the best quality and least hassle if you're copying home movies to DVD. If they're commercial videos then you can buy a TV tuner card or analog to digital converter that doesn't recognize macrovision.
The ATI tuners all...
Yes, but, you can't buy them anywhere and nobody knows when they'll be back in stock. What's the point of recommending something that's not available to someone who wants to buy now?
Here's a link to 7900GTO benchmarks. There are also 7950GT benches here.
http://www.hardware.fr/articles/639-4/comparatif-gpu-dx9-200-350.html
The only caveat is that the site is in French so you probably won't be able to read the commentary. The bench results speak for themselves...
I think the mystery is solved. This most likely was damaged in transit. This card was packaged in a large box along with a power supply, motherboard, CPU, Scythe Ninja heatsink, RAM and a NEC DVDRW. There was a thin layer of peanuts on the bottom of the box then the components were placed on...
I just got off the phone with EVGA tech support and they advised me to RMA the card through Newegg. They said that Newegg will cross ship me a new card. EVGA does not cross-ship and they will not pay for the shipping charges. I'm going to RMA through the 'egg.
They also told me that EVGA...
