Database computer drive upgrade (RAID5/1 to RAID 10 with new drives)

Is there a comparable Intel drive as well that works like this one? I have a deal where I can get them pretty cheap. 4 is nice, would love to keep it to 6 and get 6TB of RAID-10 goodness for all drives (OS, Programs, Archive, DB). I will have to give options though. 6TB give like 5 years of...

Database computer drive upgrade (RAID5/1 to RAID 10 with new drives)

Some drives have been in service since about 2010 I believe. We are replacing them with 400Gb 15k SAS drives as the older ones fail. Mixing sizes is not recommended, however getting 73Gb ones are hard to come by. The system records about 20k parameters every second. Some parameters update sooner...

So initial facts: Cannot upgrade: Computer with 8 3.5" hard drive slots, Intel SAS backplane and RAID controller Older Quad core system running Windows 2k Server Can upgrade: running 6 SAS 15k hard drives. 76Gb 2 drives in RAID 1 (OS and Programs), 4 drives in RAID 5 (SQL database and data...

Using a Litebeam in town (suburbia)

Already got auth for up to 12 feet from them. I am wondering if there will be an issue with some roofs but I don't know how well this setup pushes through stuff like that.

Using a Litebeam in town (suburbia)

I am wondering how well the Litebeam 5AC 23db antennas work in town for a point to point link. Buddy of mine has crappy internet locked at 20 Mb and wants to use my subdivision 100Mb. Distance is .6 miles as the crow flys. From maps, only about 3 meters difference in topography change. Ideas?

Can I used a managed switch to tell if the comms loss is another switch or a NIC?

Well, I can't connect directly into the switch due to distance. This is a manufacturing environment and the switch is on a different floor. Either way, the new box was configured and low and behold, their switch started detecting the drop outs! Now we are in the process of a new TO drop to see...

Can I used a managed switch to tell if the comms loss is another switch or a NIC?

So the IT guys I think have some packet sniffing thingy they hooked up in line. As soon as they did, it errored out a lot. We replaced the network cable from the box to the network port in the floor and it stopped. They walked away saying it was fixed 2 hours later. Same exact issue has came...

Can I used a managed switch to tell if the comms loss is another switch or a NIC?

Switch to Port. Port to NIC. Static IP. Port security enabled. That is all I really am allowed to know.

Can I used a managed switch to tell if the comms loss is another switch or a NIC?

Work related issue I am trying to solve. A network port keeps losing comms for 3-6 seconds and it screws up my tool. I have had all the cables replaced, new ports, even a new computer installed. Only common thing is the switch that it connects to. Their box shows the comms loss but they blame...

Intel Announces Restructuring Initiative, Cutting 12,000 Jobs

As much as I would love to move to IT or something else in the company, staying close to the wafers has been the safest place to be.
