Just got two new monitors and am wondering which is better to preserve longevity or it it matters: setting them to black screensaver or power off after 1 hour.
I have a Sapphire 6950 and was wondering if I can power my Asus VH238H monitor at 1080p @ 75hz?
I didn't install catalyst control center just the amd driver.
Does the VH238H support 1080p @ 75hz or just 60hz, or should I install the cataclyst control center?
Just got my g500 and the scroll wheel is really loose.
I think it was made that way by design but I'd just like to confirm.
Like if i move the mouse left/right fairly quickly like looking around fast in a fps, i can hear the middle wheel wobbling.
I tried disabling three options in my xtreme3 gen3 bios to see if it would stem the multiplier fluctuations in my 2500k.
CPU C3 State Support
CPU C6 State Support
Package C State Support
When disabled my voltage at idle jumped to 1.33v, even though offset was set to only +0.05.
I think it...
Ok time to bump an OLD thread.
I used this thread when building a media pc desktop for my friend a few years ago.
But I still like the idea of customizing your codecs individually rather than installing vlc player.
Is this thread still valid? Is this still the leanest way to get hardware...
you actually explained it exactly
i had a gigabyte board in my last build and it was easy and straight forward in the bios, this asrock has a MILLION options, they aren't explained, but the worst part is them not working as intended, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the BUGS
Not to mention a host of other bugs I found but don't want to list. If you buy the xtreme3 gen3 you'll have fun figuring them out yourself.
It's my own fault, I should have heeded the newegg reviews more.
I still don't understand how 1.10 has gone DOWN in quality from 1.0.... well i've got it...
I was excited to get this board until I had to restart my comp 100 times to get the right OC.
It wasn't because it's hard to overclock an i5-2500k to 4.4ghz, that's extremely easy. It's hard because asrock makes it hard with their buggy board.
From buggy UEFI bios screwing with the...
I'm ocing my i5-2500k on my extreme3 gen3 and at 4.4ghz @ 1.35v it bluescreens after a few minutes of super pi.
Thing is, the voltage fluctuates like mad. In the bios it fluctuates, in cpu-id it fluctuates, when I run prime95 it fluctuates.
In the bios it stays ~1.280v, in windows idle...
I just bought a sapphire 6950 dirt 3 edition from newegg, did some research and am pondering making it into a 6970.
This requires two things: flipping the switch to unlock the shaders and overclocking the card to 6970 speeds.
I understand that the 6970 is built with one 8 pin power...
I'm looking through the available drivers for my ASRock xtreme3 gen3 and see one, Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.
I don't install drivers unless I want the feature it provides.
Is this driver necessary when I'm running a ssd for os/apps + hd for storage? I have no raid setup.
