    Seagate 600 and 600 Pro SSD Review @ [H]

Its a relativity new design with custom firmware as well. With Seagate's background I am sure that this will mature significantly.

    Seagate 600 and 600 Pro SSD Review @ [H]

Less than a buck a GB is pretty good! Once they are available we will update the review, but that is definitely great pricing.

Thanks for catching that, it is a misprint. It is the same, only 512MB.

    Samsung 840 Pro SSD Review @ [H]

I have used it without TPM, you have to use a USB stick instead. However, there is a ton of host overhead. At least on my old school lappy :)

    OCZ Vertex 3.20 20nm 240GB SSD Review @ [H]

The increases over the last few years have been in latency, reliability, and random speed. All of these un-sexy features that actually matter. The lack of an increase in sequential bandwidth is nothing, the operating system cannot take advantage of the speed. Not many realize it, but it is...

the coming of NGFF (or M.2) form factors should be good for you then. PCIe native, with speeds in the 700MB/s range. Due with Haswell here soon.

    Plextor MP5 Pro Xtreme 256GB SSD Review @ [H]

hmmmm.... a mac. I cant help there :p I have familiarity with them at all. Actually though there is an issue with Macs and TRIM. Apple has disabled TRIM for all non-Apple SSDs. There is an easy way to enable TRIM for your device, they just make you do it manually. That is probably the issue ...

    Samsung 840 120GB SSD Review @ [H]

The thread at XS is spectacular, and full of good info, but it needs to be framed correctly. The majority of those SSDs have died from component failures, and not NAND failures. Not one has fallen into a read-only state. We have no failure analysis that can give us a distinct reason why these...

    Samsung 840 Series 500GB TLC SSD Review @ [H]

I see that it is still on sale at a few places, its a helluva deal :) Personally I feel it will stay at this price for a while. With the M5 coming soon (they will MSRP at 600 for a TB) we are going to see Samsung and Micron blast it out in the value market. Micron comes from DRAM-land, which...

    Samsung 840 120GB SSD Review @ [H]

We did calculate with a WA of 10. Depending upon the amount of free space WA can vary, and with the relatively small size of the SSD we were assuming that it would be at a decent fill for its life. Also, ECC and other data protection algorithms can create wear, and with the nature of TLC we feel...

    Samsung 840 Series TLC 250GB SSD Review @ [H]

I agree, the higher capacity TLC SSDs should be more than enough for most people :) It is only at very low capacity that users should be concerned.

    Plextor MP5 Pro Xtreme 256GB SSD Review @ [H]

Nope, that is the same Plextor :) They really did make a huge name for themselves in the optical storage world. Now they are moving forward with SSDs, and with good reason. The optical storage market is plummeting. @TheMonsterLives- Yes these SSDs do carry a bit of a premium, but that is...
