    HOLY SHIT that never happened to my 8600gt!, did you remove the modem/card in the PCI slot? It could have been blocking ventilation.. I removed my modem.

    I have to agree with the noise factor of the galaxy 8600gt, it is VERY noticable but not unbearable in any way, and the results it provides are phenomenal for such a small pc...if you go down a few threads I posted a video of gaming with the galaxy 8600gt :)
