    3200+ OC Problem

    That's about the limit for those chips with standard air cooling. Mine maxed out at 2.67. You need water or a peltier to go higher but the money would be better spent on a dual core AMD or a new system with an E4300 if you really want a high overclock.

    4400+ to 4800+ ???

    No I don't think it is worth it as it is only a minor jump from 4400 to 4800 and neither is powerful enough to do justice to an 8800GTX. Save you money and go C2D. Overclock your 4400 in the meantime.

    Opteron 170 -- 4 sticks of RAM in dual channel?

    Also running 4 sticks may limit how much you can overclock your CPU. Looking at some other threads it appears some running 4 sticks have had problems overclocking to higher levels.
