    New build for gaming $1200-$1500

Hello all, I was lurking and it seems all the recent new build discussions, the folks said they weren't gaming on them. I am out of the loop on the hardware these days and my buddy wants to start gaming with me. Probably the most intensive thing we would be playing would be Rocket League or...

Do motherboards specified as 8th gen Intel run 9th gen i9-9xxx CPU?

Not going to overclock. Wasnt interested to do overclocking. https://www.hardocp.com/article/2018/10/19/intel_core_i99900k_9th_generation_cpu_review/6 And I'm not sure I see the benefit of an unlocked board, 45 extra dollars to do not much overclocking according to the review.

Do motherboards specified as 8th gen Intel run 9th gen i9-9xxx CPU?

There are a lot of 300 series motherboards listed on newegg as 8th gen only or just 8th gen with no mention of 9th gen, so if you are getting a 9th gen processor do you have to buy a motherboard that specifically says 9th gen in the description? if 8th gen mobo fits 9th gen cpu is there some...

240hz monitor with AMD Radeon 6970's

I actually just got a driver update from ATI the other day. I will have to get the driver info when I'm at home. Its the goofy looking Crimson driver. They are pushing for me to contact XFX and ask them if the card will do 240hz. I would be surprised if it couldn't handle that when people were...

240hz monitor with AMD Radeon 6970's

Talking to support and they are trying to say that the monitor requires at least a r7 260... which in the manual it says: System requirement Free-Sync function 1. Free-Sync function is working with DP/HDMI1/HDMI2 DP : 48~240Hz HDMI1:48~240Hz(HDMI2.0) HDMI2: 48~120Hz(HDMI1.4) 2. Compatible...

240hz monitor with AMD Radeon 6970's

i was thinking that since they are displayport 1.2, and displayport 1.2 supports 1920x1080 @ 240hz that it shouldn't be a problem especially considering im playing older games and get extremely high fps. and even in rocket league i get 240 fps atleast.

240hz monitor with AMD Radeon 6970's

I know my cards are a bit outdated but they have Displayport 1.2 on them, but this 240hz monitor I picked up is capped at 144hz. Yes, I read the monitor manual and I made sure to install the driver for the AOC AG251FZ. I even tried using CRU to manually add the res+hz Anyone else run into this...

AMD Crossfire + No performance increase

Tried older drivers and nothing seems to work. Tried the oldest available on the AMD site and the one that came with my card (on disc), 10.12

AMD Crossfire + No performance increase

Answering with "Get another card." is not helpful nor does it answer the question. To update, I've since put a fresh installation of Windows on my other motherboard (Intel DP67BG), installed the latest (non-beta) Catalyst Control Center back on, and still don't see the performance increase...
