Final Fantasy VII Revelation (Remake Part 3)

I was mulling over saying something similar and the word 'hippies' did come to mind. Yeah, it was a weird vibe. Maybe some of that was in the localization. Hopefully there isn't too much fluff and filler in part 3. Disc 2 of the original was full of cool stuff, and getting crazy equipment from...

Final Fantasy VII Revelation (Remake Part 3)

I'm amused to see others hating on Cosmo Canyon. That was the point where I gave up my last care and just full skipped all the dialog to finish it ASAP. And Red's voice reveal was dumb. Concerning. The stutter in part 2 was abysmal. Had to find an optimization mod to reduce (but not...

    Halo: Campaign Evolved (remake)

All this talk about old console coop and Halo dev history almost makes me want to open MCC or even dig out the xbox and CE disc from the closet for the sake of nostalgia. Even with all of the (accurate and deserved) criticisms of the original, it was an icon of that era. It isn't as though I...

    Halo: Campaign Evolved (remake)

I think if you were bored by the gameplay loop in a modern Halo, you are going to be unimpressed with Halo 1. That said, it was quite a phenomenon for its time. But also that was 25 years ago. IMO, if you want to experience that part of history, price tag on Halo 1 in the MCC is more appealing.

Recommend me some Star Wars games!

Same here. Didn't really have Starfield on the short list. Various reasons. Now, though... Was glancing earlier, and the guy maintaining the list recommends an 80 GB page file? Surely that can't be right. How was your experience as far as performance? Also, for OP even though the thread is a...

2nd Video Games Industry Crash Coming? Interesting Take From The Critical Drinker

Man that would be nice. Would be the silver lining of all of this, devs having to tighten things up instead of assuming there will be unlimited resources to run whatever is built. I'm not super confident that will happen, but here's hoping.

No Man's Sky - a procedurally generated sand box space exploration game

You can't move your progress or stuff across saves, but you should be able to claim the expedition rewards in the anomaly on each save.

    [Poll] Steam Machine 2026 = Build / Buy / Pass + SURVEY

Huh. I know the icon from playing FF7 Rebirth recently, but apparently that was just due to the game being horribly stuttery and hitchy, and it (mostly) went away after finding some optimization mod. I am also wired. Haven't seen it aside from that, but I also blocked the Link from accessing WAN...

    [Poll] Steam Machine 2026 = Build / Buy / Pass + SURVEY

Ironically, this thing has preempted any want or need for a living room PC

    CoOP/PVE Recommendations

Maybe a generic recommendation, but No Man's Sky fits all of the 'tags' you listed. I'm not so sure it aligns with the 'styles' of the other games you listed, and it can be an acquired taste in ways, but it does check boxes. Outward was pretty neat, but I remember it being pretty janky, too...

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Official Thread

Hard not to wonder if that last part is specifically why this is being released. Hopefully they do it justice. Interested but cautious--CDPR has a good record, but so did many other once-greats.

Steam Deck Price Hike. top model now $949

Do people not understand what the term profit means? "Gross/net profit" is not a thing. "Gross profit" is a misnomer for "revenue" "Net profit" is a misnomer for... "profit" Revenue - expenses = profit

Copy Fail: One 732-Byte Python Script Gives Root on Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE, Amazon Linux

What happens is, you run it and get root anyway. No sudo or elevated privilege needed. You could also download the Python script manually. It's on their github, and it's what is curl'd from that url.

Copy Fail: One 732-Byte Python Script Gives Root on Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE, Amazon Linux

This. Any user can paste the one-liner to curl and run the script. Boom, root shell. Takes 3 seconds. All the ragebait headlines posted in this subforum, and this "any idiot can/copy and paste into godmode" seems to get little attention.
