i have a P35, asus p5k-e wifi.
i am using a cheap e2160 @3GHz and 2x ddr2 800 samsung 1G sticks @ddr1000 and an old mb bios.
i want to buy an e8400 so i upgraded the mb bios and now the ram won't run anything over ddr667.

so why are there 2D and 3D profiles with lower clocks for 2D? surely if the card produces less heat it's using less power?
i think current drawn is different with different clocks and when idle or under load.
for cards that support it i think the 2D profile has lower voltage too and i bet...
well there's no way you can get into bios with no keyboard.
maybe you can fix the problem with a bios update. you can do this from windows with the asus updater thingy software. i can't remember what it's called because i would never risk such a thing in windows.

i don't understand the overclocking part. The review says that the E6320 is harder to overclock because it has a higher multi? Doesn't it have the lowest of them all?

I'm pretty sure they're out of stock of the original 6800 series with the big heatsinks. They might give you a 7600gt instead if you're lucky!
i had a similar leadtek that went bad like that too. normally with little dots on the desktop i think that it's a video memory problem.
maybe it's time for a new video card?
