    so why are there 2D and 3D profiles with lower clocks for 2D? surely if the card produces less heat it's using less power? i think current drawn is different with different clocks and when idle or under load. for cards that support it i think the 2D profile has lower voltage too and i bet...

    good luck with the rma, sometimes Leadtek takes ages (several weeks). I'm pretty sure they're out of stock of the original 6800 series with the big heatsinks. They might give you a 7600gt instead if you're lucky!

    i had a similar leadtek that went bad like that too. normally with little dots on the desktop i think that it's a video memory problem. maybe it's time for a new video card?
