    As mentioned, a Pentium M cannot be upgraded to any core cpus. This includes core solo, core duo or core 2 duo. Your only choice is another Pentium M, that's it. The core cpus are either socket M or P, while your Pentium M is socket 478.

    This is a no brainer. Obviously the 7950GTX is a much better card than the 8600GT. The only thing that the 8600 has is dx10 capabilities. But if you play in dx9, then there's no comparison.
