    UWP is technically just API extensions to Win32. The traditional games in the Store really have nothing to do with UWP.

    There's nothing in the Store that can't be distributed another way, even UWPs don't have to go only through the Store. That Microsoft decides to distribute some of its own stuff only through the Store, well look at how many folks don't want to cough up 30% to a third party these days.
