Local dimming algorithm ruining text clarity on the QN90B

More good news from rtings about 43 QN90B: Updated Sep 16, 2022: We confirmed that VRR doesn't work properly when sent a 120Hz signal from a PC. With LD algorithm also crushing colors/whites and breaking text clarity I'm really glad I bought this as a monitor :) Also I noticed that rtings...

Local dimming algorithm ruining text clarity on the QN90B

1304.1 firmware, all up to date Here is the image around black background, notice how the hexagon border becomes darker inside the color-crushed area compared to the hexagon's interior which means the local dimming algorithm doesn't just crush colors it also inverts lighter colors to become...

Local dimming algorithm ruining text clarity on the QN90B

All fine white text becomes slightly jagged around gray/black backgrounds and that's because for some reason the QN90B local dimming algorithm crushes whites/light grays together thus breaking grayscale text rendering which relies on different tones of gray to make the text look less aliased...

    LG 48CX

If the 48" still has ~150 nit brightness full-field then I am still going to take a pass. Has LG Display actually made any improvements to OLED in the past 4 years? Chipset and software improvements don't count since those are made by LG Electronics.

The perfect 4K 43” monitor! Soon! Asus XG438Q ROG

No local dimming, shitty matte coating, cheap VA panel with subpar 3000:1 contrast ratio (probably) with overpriced $1000+ GAEEEMING MONITOR tag!

    Sony X900F 49" 4K TV as display

I had to return mine. The blooming was too much when watching even a few degrees off-angle. The black levels shoot to the moon when even a little off angle. The local dimming settings (high, medium, low) have almost no difference since Sony is obsessed with maintaining bright highlights at all...

    Semi-gloss 4k VA

Wasn't 3H coating developed in 2003 lol? In comparision to TV semi-gloss and glossy coatings that are improved yearly with better reflections and contrast.

    NVIDIA Big Format Gaming Display

Looks like Nvidia is doubling down into not supporting VRR and instead are releasing their own brand of overpriced "gaming TV" monitors, instead of supporting regular VRR TVs. Awesome.

Did Rting.com Under Rate the review On X900E for PC Monitor ?

Rtings pc monitor priorities are completely nonsense because they give the c7v oled 8.5 pc monitor rating. Both the x900e and oleds get 3% score for sdr brightness which is a joke. The OLEDS should have atleast 10% subtracted from their pc score thanks to ABL and ABSL, not to mention burn in and...

any 43 inch OLED TVs PWM free options ? lg C7 / B6 ETC

I don't know what rtings is smoking for rating the OLED's so high for pc monitor usage. I bought the 55c7v and immediately when I popped open a white website the ABL kicked in, massively dulling the brightness. Also OLEDs have problems with color shift and my unit had yellowing whites when...

Is it normal for VA gamma shift to cause graininess

Just got the Iiyama x4071uhsu and while it is reported to have only 1% haze (vs philips BDM4065UC's 3-4% haze) I can still see a little graininess at angles where gamma shifting also occurs. Is this normal? Looking at a direct angled portion of the monitor I don't see any grain.

Best Reviewed A-MVA Monitor Thread: Read the 1st Post

I'm the person who bought the U32H850 (specifically the LU32H850UMUXEN), here are the things i've noticed with it: When viewing a gray background you can see vertical streaks which have a greenish tone. The antiglare filter has been applied very unevenly, some places have more grain, causing...
