    Help with 9800GX2

I had a BFG 9800GX2 in my machine running beautifully. Great card. Then I started to get a little annoyed by the noise it made when those fans start to spin up...it can get kind of loud. So, I decided to add it to my water cooling loop. I bought an EK-FC9800 water block for it (gorgeous...

    Which is louder...GTX280 or 9800GX2

Out of the two flagship nVidia video cards, which is louder, the GTX280 or the 9800GX2?

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

I couldn't believe it either...so much so, in fact, that I had completely eliminated the video card in my troubleshooting. I thought 'no way they would send me two dead cards in a row for RMA...' Trust me, I will be calling tomorrow...

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

Well we really should move this thread from the motherboard forum to the video card forum! I went out and picked up a 9800GX2 at Fry's. The build started right up. It was the video card...AGAIN! I can't believe BFG sent me two dead cards in two weeks for RMA's... Now to decide if I should...

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

at this point I have replaced every component in my system except for the cpu...i bought a new motherboard, memory, power supply and two different rma'd cards from BFG. I feel completely defeated, don't know what to do next... Before I RMA this video card again, i feel like i need to try a...

Bitspower Water Tank Z Plus Liquid Cooling Reservoir - (Tank Z Plus)

R1ck and CommanderCup I think were actually right on the money...I was using a home brewed concoction of distilled water, food coloring, water wetter and a copper sulfate anti-microbial agent. I think I will stick with pre-mixed coolants from now on! I actually emptied the entire loop and then...

Bitspower Water Tank Z Plus Liquid Cooling Reservoir - (Tank Z Plus)

Anyone using this Reservoir: Bitspower Water Tank Z Plus Liquid Cooling Reservoir - (Tank Z Plus) I am getting terrible foam build up in my loop with mine, was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences or advice? Does this thing have an 'inlet' side and an 'outlet' side?

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

I don't think it's my card either...in fact, I think my card was probably ok both times I RMA'd it. I think I will try a new power supply tomorrow...

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

Alright Loco...or anyone else kind enough to offer some more advice...I got the third RMA card today from BFG...and I am still having the same problem. I feel like an idiot. I can't understand what's going on. I get the following messages on the ASUS LCD Poster: CPU INIT DET DRAM...

    ASUS Maximum Extreme CMOS ERR

Thanks again for the advice Loco, but I have been using the same video card, motherboard and power supply for several months without any issues, so I am skeptical that it's my power supply. It did cross my mind, though, so I tried another power supply that I had (Silverstone ST85F) and had the...

splitting main loop into two loops then back into one

My problem is the ASUS Maximus Extreme motherboard has a built in northbridge waterblock with 3/8" fittings on it. Neither the waterblock nor the fittings can be removed easily (I suppose it's possible, but would require some major modding). The rest of my watercooling setup is all 1/2"...

splitting main loop into two loops then back into one

OK...here's another questions...what about going from 1/2" to 3/8" and then back to 1/2". Is that problematic? Will it significantly restrict flow? Any other possible problems to worry about?
