That's similar to my build! :)
I agree with the cool & quiet focus, and have a few addendum/suggestions to go along with that.
65W Core i7-3770S: $305
Heatsink-only CPU cooler: $66
While I love the Silverstone TJ08, with the flexibility his needs allow he could go even smaller with an...
Thanks a lot, and holy crap your PC is a monster! I would so love SLI Titans, it must be incredible. My Titan plays Bioshock Infinite very well mostly maxed out @ 2560x1600 (I think everything is ultra/high w/ AA off). But Bioshock Infinite is a very polished game, I imagine games like Metro...
Thanks! Yeah I'm really happy with this set up. My last desk was a more typical office desk w/ drawers built in on the sides. It was a nice desk but not large enough for more then 2 30" monitors, and heavier than these Bush desks due to the drawers and how these are actually two modular desks...
Ugh that really sucks. How severe is it? Only visible in certain colors or is it a fully defective group of pixels?
I think I can safely say that Smart Video Enhance was the culprit for that issue I captured in the pic above, I can't even begin to understand how anyone would like it, it was...
I was in the World of Tanks menu and the filter thingy happened again long enough to get a pic of it. Instead of re-sizing and compressing it I'll just link to it instead of embedding:

I think I may have found the "feature" doing this, but I'm not...
Yeah same, using the DP to mini DP it shipped with. I do have a few DP cables from my old HPs I can try to test with as well. I'll update this thread w/ whatever I find.
Sow how does it happen for you? As I described? Do you have the Dell app installed and if so does it pop up constantly about...
Yeah it probably wasn't, but it was well-priced and if I need it for just one of them it'll pay off in spades. Generally I never get extended warranties, but the rate just seemed too reasonable to pass up. Any warranty more than 10-15%ish the cost of the unit is really pushing its usefulness...
Hey all,
I've lurked here from time to time for years but for whatever reason never actually made an account until recently.
Anyway, I thought I'd share my latest PC build. I've built many PCs but this is probably my favorite one overall, and a somewhat technically tricky one given my...
There's obviously plenty of other cases you can spend a bit more on that are better, that doesn't make the entire build bad. But getting a good enough case usually means a separate PSU next, and you're easily talking $700+ builds now.
That case doesn't look bad at all for the price though...
Not exactly, but close. Like Skillz said, the Win 7 license takes a big bite out of the budget. However, consider these alternatives:
Build 1: ~$150 premium for much better performance:
Case & PSU $60
Motherboard: $65
APU: A10-5800K 3.8GHz (4.2Ghz Turbo) $130 (compare to older gen slower...
Ah sorry, I didn't know you were comparing to a specific monitor, I thought you just meant a general cost difference between it and most TN panels. Last I knew 24" TN panels were still $200ish, but it looks like things are a bit different now because damn, you can actually get an Asus IPS...
