Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
don't the cards already come with a molex- 6pin adapter?
It would be cutting it close, but 350w should be fine. Although, if his power supply does die and fry something along the way (costing him more in the long run), at least you can say "I told you so".
Cheap bastard.
Did not play games on it, since I saw it the day the 5870 was released to the public and the drivers did not work correctly for the 5870x2 (heck, 5870 drivers were buggy remember?).
Card has 2x dvi and 1 displayport. If you look at the pics posted on Hardwarecanucks you'll be able to confirm...
Makes sense no? Reduce clocks on the memory to reduce power consumption to be well within the envelope allowed by 6+8pin power connections... very plausible. ATi themselves released a pic of not one but 2 of the cards and it was shown that they both used 6+8 pin connections. How they did it is...
Nope. Just a guy in the right place at the right time, who met a guy with these cards.
the gpu-z pic shows nothing, could be photoshopped! Could just be a 5870 with reduced clocks or something, who knows. All I know is that it is 100% illegitimate, and that guy is just looking for attention.
