Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Picked one up also in the POrtland, OR metro area. None of the stores had them in stock except for one store (luckily near my work). Thewy are definitely flushing the old ones out.
I actually got lucky as I returned the 281 to the store I purchased it and they had only TWO monitors in the...
Just went through the ringer with BB to exchange my old Gateway for the new HFD2400. I got the service plan with the old one, but it is just that and not an exchange plan and three stores said I'd have to have it sent out and get a verdict in 7-14 business days. Shoot, I should have just not...
I have the gateway 24" and I love it. Early versions had some light bleeding through the edges and the touch sensitive menu buttons failing, the startup logo not going away, and high heat output. However I have a good one and I love it and it has all the connections except HDMI.
HOWEVER...
Oh yeah, forgot that HDMI 1.3 could support higher colors...my bad. But initially HDMI was released to carry both audio/visual signals and to add to the content protection foray. I guess you might want to wait for HDMI in a monitor after all...can I delete my last post? Hahaha!
Why wait for a monitor with HDMI? It's almost pointless because you can't use the audio bandwidth when hooked straight into a monitor. Monitors don't have an output for the audio carried through an HDMI cable (only USB or whatever in the Gateway's case). All HDMI is good for is if you need to...
True, DVI and HDMI signals are the same and a converter should do fine. And yes, if you get an internal BR player or HD-DVD player, as long as the monitor has HDCP, why wouldn't it work? Isn't Vista going to have that capability? As for the audio over HDMI, it is digital, but I don't see how...
From what I have read on other web-sites related to Audio/Visual technology, component cables (an analog signal) can (should?) only carry 720p/1080i signals, and if you want higher resolutions (ie. 1080p) you must use a digital cable (ie. HDMI or DVI). The only differences in DVI and HDMI is...
That's what I do, I don't scroll (didn't even really know it till reading the above post). What happened with mine is that I think I may have pressed to hard on the power buttin or it fried. Couldn't see the led anymore and could activate the menu. The new one is fine and I even went a step...
I bought the Gateway 22" the other day and I like it so far. However, he is correct on the bleading, but mine doesn't seem to be as bad as his. The color is a bit off, but both the nVidia control panel and the monitor settings can correct this. To be honest I already exchanged the display...
I just purchased the Gateway 22" at BB with all my Reward Zone points, discounts and gift cards (can you say $150 out of pocket?) and I love it. Wouldn't mind though if it was 1900 x 1200 or whatever that resolution is like my 17" Dell laptop. But it sits at the perfect viewing distance on my...
