Unless they come up with 42 inch Gsync Ultimate OLED with 1k peak brightness, improved color volume and less aggressive ABL, PG32UQX is the best HDR screen out there. Other benefits of PG32UQX easily negates the blooming disadvantage imo. OLED look better in edge cases, PG32UQX look better in...
Yeah that's the thing. My X27 doesn't have these problems except normal blooming of course. I guess miniled with way more zones on a big screen more challenging for the algorithm but still disappointing since older gen Gsync HDR FALD monitors doesn't have this problem.
I see lots of debates about PG32UQX local dimming and the algorithm. Is it really bad ? I mean i have Acer X27 FALD and it's breathtaking. I can only imagine they improved it and made it even better. Only difference i saw from reviews is the most aggressive fald setting have inverse blooming...
So i have this monitor and a colorimeter. I fired up VESA's Displayhdr app to do measurements. The result is the monitor is about 25-30% brighter than it should.
Some examples: 20 nit content show up as 25 nit. 160 nit show up as 210 nit. 640 nit is 825 nit. 1000 nit is 1222 nit. The monitor...
I'm big fan of oled since the first days but people really defend their new toy and it's annoying. OLED HDR is barely a HDR. Most of the wow factor comes from the big size and the glossy screen. I bet most people doesn't even view it in a suitable environment to appreciate the contrast benefits.
I don't agree. I have 3080 ti and my fps great. I'm taking advantage of 120hz and flawless gsync easily. Also 4k DLSS looks far better than native 1440p and gives more fps. So even latest AAA games with punishing ray tracing benefits a lot from 120hz and the flawless gsync it brings. 60hz and no...
I can confirm it looks worse on my X27 even in real life, not just in pictures. Those leds in the picture very bright. If you push 1000 nits, you have 1 nit blacks on ips. That's bad. However in SDR mode i see no blooming with this video. It looks great.
Can anyone share service menu screenshot of 32UQX ? I have the X27 and tonemapping behaviour is inconsistent. I really like to have input of other users. There are 2 modes this monitor inconsistently use. One is 1015 nits, the other one is 4000 tonemapped. It's random. With 4000 nits tonemapped...
32 inch 4k is really nice format. I hope they keep improving on this with glossy panel, off axis contrast thing, more zones, higher brightness and better color gamut/volume along with up to par response times/input lag and maybe true native 10 bit in the future. This is probably the way moving...
