    Having Serious Memory Issues

I wouldn't think that should affect memory. After the BIOS flash you said you got BSOD every time until you tried the higher timings again. So is it booting to Windows now? If still having problems might try running Memtest+ like jubrany suggested and see if errors show up, also at what block...

    Having Serious Memory Issues

Gskill rates the 2x2Gb kit at 9-9-9-24 but if you're using two kits you may have to loosen the timings some. It's always more taxing on the memory controller to address 4 sticks than 2.

Ram will NOT POST to 1600

The manufacturer rates their memory at those timings when used exactly as sold in the kit. ie. 2x2Gb If you're using two of those kits to get 8Gb then you will have to loosen the timings as you discovered. It's always more taxing on the memory controller to address 4 sticks than 2.

Need Help: New GTX460 lower fps than old 8000GT

Yes it should not be worse, however it may only be slightly better, depending on how much the game relies on the cpu. For the games you play you may get more bang for your buck if you returned the 460 and used that $150 on a new board and cpu. I bet you could find a nice AM2+ board and Athlon...

Need Help: New GTX460 lower fps than old 8000GT

If you swapped in the new card and then cranked up the game graphics to max, it's not an apples-to-apples comparison vs your old 8800. Use 3DMark, Furmark, some benchmark program that you can compare scores or fps between both cards using the same graphics settings. Yes your CPU is for...

Need Help: New GTX460 lower fps than old 8000GT

It doesn't matter how much of a "bottleneck" your CPU is, a 460 should not perform worse than an 8800. At the very least it should do the same or slightly better. Rather than state it "feels like" it's getting worse FPS, how about running a quick benchmark or two and confirm? I would...

Is This Cooler A Good Choice

If you're set on Thermaltake, for that price go with the Frio, that's the best cooler they make. If you want something almost as good for a lot less money, get a CM Hyper 212+

Need Help: New GTX460 lower fps than old 8000GT

An extra 200MHz on the CPU isn't going to make any significant difference in your FPS. You don't mention what power supply you're using. The 8800GT would have used a single 6pin PCIe power, and the 460 requires two. Do you have enough power for it?

    Mobo stuck at PCI-e X2

That's pretty messed up that ATI cards won't work right in an AMD board, but nVidia will, heh. Particularly since they're the same generation hardware.

Stupid question, not familiar with AMD

An AM2 processor will work in an AM2 or AM2+ board. An AM2+ processor will work in an AM2+ and some AM2 boards with BIOS update - although HTT will be limited. An AM3 processor will work in an AM3 and some AM2+ boards with BIOS update - although HTT will be limited. Note that AM2/AM2+ are...

    Mobo stuck at PCI-e X2

That board is a 790X which should have one 16x and one 8x PCIe slots. Did it ever work at 16x or has it only ever done 2x since you got it?
