Large or small gaming laptop?
It really depends on your needs...How important the faster GPU options of the Alienware 17 are to you? How important is portability? I was looking to get the Alienware 14 for light on-the-go gaming (SCII: HOTS) and lots of media playback. The Alienware 14 is the only machine in the lineup...- fto

Dell U2412 driver is out!
Hope they fix the tinting issues from the U2410 or there is no point... :mad: At my previous work place I was working with over 15 of the U2410 monitors, and they are awesome when there is no tint and are properly calibrated. At my current workplace I've been working with 4 different U2410s... -

Yes I noted in my impressions that the F2380MX has edge washout and that the viewing angles are highly exaggerated. It's still better than dealing with the Dell/LG IPS issues for now. I will get another monitor once a more reliable crop of IPS shows up or fix to the tint shows up. Hopefully... -

I don't know what's going on...Too lazy to read through all the disagreement. But, so what if the original F2380 had black crush? That does not mean it cannot achieve a good contrast ratio, it's just a measure between the lightest and darkest the display can do. The black crush issue appears... -

I just tried the wallpaper on my F2380mx, and I can assure you, the F2380MX looks better than the 2209WA in that picture comparison. Have not used a calibrator on my monitor, just adjusted settings to my own liking. It actually looks kind of bad in NCX's pictures, but it actually looks way... -

I sit about an arm's length from it. When viewed head on, the very very edges (about .5"?), the colors are slightly shifted. By no means bad, but the viewing angles rating on this thing are definitely exaggerated. Viewing angles are just slightly better than a TN to me..:rolleyes: Luckily... -

yes it amazingly does have speakers even though it doesn't look like there are, and it can actually grab the audio from HDMI as well. Obviously the quality isnt that great. Think cheap PC speakers. But it is a nifty feature and I was using it when testing how the 360 runs on the monitor. -

Yeah there is some slight black crush for mode 2. But for some reason it's just easier on my eyes, especially the text when I set to mode 2. Or maybe I have yet to adjust to the new monitor. I just managed to find a way to test SC2 (in-game replay) and it was fine as opposed to the 1080p... -

Yes like NCX says, it is color streaking or blurring whatever, and it's so bad on 'fastest' that it looks like artifacts from a bad graphics card. Just because it says its faster/fastest doesn't mean it's better. There's obviously a trade-off, or why wouldn't they change 'fastest' just be the... -

Been testing xbox 360 on it, there is some ghosting but it should be acceptable for most... l4d2, bayonetta, mass effect 2 all played fine, and ghosting was only mostly noticeable if I looked for it... Now I am a bit stumped though. I am not too fond of the 16:9 aspect and resolution. If... -

I just bought one from Bestbuy on sale for $299 this week. I had 3xU2410s earlier but all were sent back for various issues (ie. tint). Initial impressions of the F2380mx, blacks, instantly noticeable. They are really, really nice blacks. Like black as ink. No loss of detail (black crush)... -

I have a 2005fpw, I returned 3 U2410 and am back to using my 2005fpw now...:rolleyes: I was amazed at the U2410's picture and brightness compared to my aging 2005fpw. However I just could not live with the tinting issues on 2/3 of mine. The only good one developed a dead pixel after a week...
