Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Newegg has both brands' 500gig drives for $159 currently. I have had good success with both WD and Seagate internal drives, but am currently in the market for an external solution. Has anyone had experience with either (or both) drive?
Well, you could probably still find a 60gig video...or the new 80gig video. Not really old-school with the better battery life and whatnot.
But definitely keep with the quality for the mp3's. For me, the space I would save does not make up for how irritated I would be by the lossy quality.
Though, as a side note, if you think that you are being "hacked" while on the gaming server a firewall might not solve your problem. Since you would have to create a rule to open up a port to play the online games in order to connect to the server, if the hackers truly are doing something to...
I had this problem once. I was usually able to end the currently running explorer.exe process and THEN start a new one. If there is a system restore point somewhere before the issue started occurring, try restoring to that. If that does not work, a reinstall may be necessary.
You can change the tab's min width.
Go into your about:config
search/go to "browser.tabs.tabMinWidth" and change the "100" to something smaller....I believe 70 will allow for 10 tabs per bar...I keep mine around 30.
Open Source FTW
If you do a search in the extensions page for Tab Mix and find the extension site, he has a link to a RC of the newest version. This is just a "hold over" and is designed for 1.5, but with compatibility for 2.0 (little things like the tab list carrot drop-down thing on the far right of the tab...
Linux is definitely ready for the desktop, but the end user has to be proactive in terms of searching for help. I use Ubuntu as my primary (non-gaming) OS and love every minute of it. The Ubuntu Forums are an incredible source of knowledge and a great group to deal with.
But if the user isn't...
I like his thinking.
I would suggest, if you have a spare PC or HDD to install a distro of Linux and take it for a spin. If you are an avid Windows user, please keep an open mind. Linux is VERY different for the most part, but has a lot of power-user/admin functionality that is great...
TabMixPlus has a bunch of options for that kind of thing. Unfortunately the current version stopped being compatible at 1.5.
However, there is a RC of the new 2.0 compatible version at:
http://tmp.garyr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3515
Since this is still designed FOR FF1.5, just compatible...
Even though I am a Linux supporter, I would suggest that you just hook your dad up with Windows XP, Firefox and either AVG or Avast! anti-virus. Both are free, light, and do a heck of a job.
Linux is a great system, but it's not renowned for it's gaming ability...and with a 20" display and a...
Again, this could come down to the user. How many standard users know enough to change the login credentials on the admin accounts and don't just leave them set up with the default (generally blank) password? All the rootkit would have to do is execute as a runas: file and point to the default...
What distro are you running?
I know this is possible, but first you actually have to install IE on your linux machine via WINE and whatnot. It get's a little messy, and is kind of slow.
Alternatively, there is a program, ies4linux.
