Any laptops with true 10bit IPS panels?

Doubtful the difference in colors is AMAZING from 8 it to 10 bit. Are you sure your 8 bit display was using Full RGB like your new one? Regarding laptops and the like, cheaper is better. Real work requires a standalone keyboard and at least two separate displays.

    Pixio Px275h (subjective) review: 27" QHD DCI-P3 95hz monitor

Well, that's interesting. I'm using a VA now. My IPS looks better on the desktop, but the VA is more correct to my visual system. I can use it longer with more comfort and fewer issues. This is not a universal recommendation for VA, just that everyone should try out their IPS next to a VA, and...

    Pixio Px275h (subjective) review: 27" QHD DCI-P3 95hz monitor

A VA monitor can help by allowing you to crank down the brightness significantly more without destroying the picture quality because of the superior native contrast ratio.

    Pixio Px275h (subjective) review: 27" QHD DCI-P3 95hz monitor

So how is the eye train on this IPS? Many times IPS screens seem fine at first, but after a week or so, the eyes become strained. The reverse tends to be the case with VA, where there is some adaptation period, but once adapted the VA screen tends to be more comfortable on the vision system...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

One of the reasons eye comfort and health enthusiasts love VA panels is because they work better when brightness is turned down low due to their outstanding native contrast ratios. Staring at a bright LED for hours on end isn't healthy. Another point: have you asked yourselves what exactly it...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

VA shines with dark colors, blacks, and dark modes. If you're concerned about productivity and eye and brain comfort, you should be using a dark background and light text, and IPS will never give you as good an experience in this context as VA. Period.

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

You sound pissed about having spent your load on IPS technology with 1000:1 contrast when VA was achieving 5000:1 back in 2012. Said BenQ Australia’s general manager, Chee F. Chung, So your IPS screens achieve the same static contrast ratio as 2012 TN screens, and the BenQ manager raves about...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

For most uses I don't know why color accuracy and gamma shift are issues.

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

Yes, the text on my IPS has become white since I've increased the brightness. It was because I had both screens set to very low brightness, and at those low brightness levels text on the IPS was light grey while it still was white on the VA. On this image, viewing it in a new tab on each...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

Do you know why my matte IPS needs Full RGB to have deep blacks while my VA looks very similar whether I use Full RGB or Limited 16:235? With both my IPS and VA on limited, the text on this site is white on the VA but a light grey on the IPS. It's a big variation. On Full RGB on the IPS, it's...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

That's over 6X as high native contrast as a typical 1000:1 IPS screen. Surely it was superior for office productivity and browsing. Back in 2012, BenQ seemed devoted to VA, and then something happened. Besides, a current generation VA computer monitor tends to have only 3000:1 native...

5000:1 Static Contrast Ratio in 2012

BenQ GW2750HM 27-inch A-MVA 1920x1080 Monitor w/ HDMI, 4 ms This monitor from 2012 (8 years ago) looks like a better office/productivity screen than most of the stuff selling today. Do you know any 2019/2020 models with 5000:1 static contrast? Back in 2012, it seemed like BenQ was devoted...

VA better than IPS for eye comfort and reading?

I have two HP IPS screens, one matte and one low haze. The low haze model definitely is easier on the eyes. I notice immediate relaxation of the visual system going from the matte to the low haze screen. Another point that makes a big difference especially with matte screens is ensuring the RGB...

Best way to clean your high-end screens

Well, I don't personally believe water or any liquid will penetrate the outer screen layer of any unit. If I'm wrong, I'd love to be shown otherwise. I did get some liquid into one of my screens when I had the unit off and sprayed right on the screen, allowing some liquid to get under on the...

Samsung Odyssey 1440p VA monitors 240hz curved

I'm presently using a VA249 as one of my monitors. I just purchased this from Amazon, manufactured in March of 2020. However, I think the panel itself is a relatively old 2014 model by InnoLux unless I'm mistaken or it's been updated. It's a basic VA screen by Asus in their Eye Care line. The...
