i need some help on my older system
i had a working p4 3ghz intel machine that was working fine.
i took it apart to give it its annual summer cleaning
i put it back together fine
my booting sequence now is very very slow
and it can;t log into windows
it goes to system boot and goes though...
yes i have that i have 2 enchanced and 5 standard host controller.. the problem is that i plugged my thumb drive into all of my available or possible to be available drive and still nada...
i think you got that problem due to you starting windows from boot priority.. you hsould do the reformat through windows via the cd that way the comp wouldn't put the temp files in the main directory
meaning..
to reformat.. use the cd via windows and not form boot.

i got a ds3 and my pther ports are those that comes with an antec p160, i would assume they are both hispeed usb2
i am working under the assumption that hispeed usb2 is the same as usb 2.. and that i got usb1.1
if there are 3 different speeds of usb i want the best one and my equipment...
i have problems with all of my ports..
i can;t get usb 2.0 enabled on any of my ports
including the ones on the backplate which is provided by gigabyte
well gigabyte replied to my quesry adn all they got is to set cmos back to optimised default reinstall teh usb drivers and chipset drivers and they ask whether or not i have sp2 installed when i mentioned in the query that i have sp2 slipstraemed...

I am experiementing with a 1gig usb pen drive.. i know its usb capable cos it works on other machines at usb 2 speeds.. i don;t have any other usb stuff at teh moment
it doesn;t need its own win drivers so thats not the problem

this is seriously fucked up.. i reinstalled my winxp twice using two different xp discs in order to solve this crap but no,.. both have the same problem..
i reinstalled them.. add service pack2.. add chipset drivers, add gigabyte usb2.0 drivers
all without a single usb port being used...
i tried that and it didn;t work.. i uninstalled all teh usb controllers and then reboot .. it didn;t work i still get the message that your device can perform faster if you connect it to a usb2.0 device..
does anyone else have any idea on what to do

if you look at my first post, i do have sp2 isntalled.. infact i slipstreamed sp2 as well as other hotfixes into my xp install so i don;t really know wheres the problem arising that i can;t use usb2
