I really do miss my xhd3000 -- It was the superior of the two while it worked.
The 3008WFP is a good monitor. I've used mine for about 2 weeks now and have minimal complaints. In respect to gaming, the dell and gateway are comparable in input lag and response times. For image quality, the Dell needs to be calibrated somehow. Out of the box everything is way too blue. You can do it by hand, but I recommend picking up a colorimeter like the EyeOne Display LT/2 or Spyder3 to calibrate it.
My #1 complaint is the grainy coating on the dell makes text harder to read.
Plugging it up for the first time was a big dissappointment, but after playing with the color I'm satisfied with it.
I picked up 2 of the 3008WFP's refurbed on ebay for $848 off 'precisiontechexperts' w/ a 1 and 3 yr. warrenty. Each has 1 dead pixel (same as my gateway).
I can say more, but these things are limited to 1k characters. Feel free to ask questions.
