    I was having a helluva time re-setting up my Z-5500's to get them to work correctly after a room re-arrange, but I finally figured out the 6-channel direct setting. Now all the speakers and sub work beautifully besides the front left. Nothing but heavy static, not affected by volume, comes...

    2 port 80's? Port 80 is used for http traffic, and most routers support more than 2 http connections.....if that's what you mean. Maybe you mean 2 WAN connections?

    They were definitely designed with those speeds and more in mind, but not the load p2p and torrents place on them. 3rd party firmware such as dd-wrt is designed to help with this. I was having problems lately with my router, such as you are, and upgraded to v23 dd-wrt and havent had 1 issue...

    I plan on buying a cisco 2514 router and a 2950 switch for home use, and for help w/ the CCNA to study with. 2514's have dual ethernets so you can use them as a home router fairly out of the box, and go for ~90 used. I'm still a cisco noob though.

    Try bypassing that switch when you update, Modem -> Router -> Computer doing the update and see if that works. I know dd-wrt reccomends you be directly connected via ethernet to the router when doing an update.

    Thats what I was thinking. To the OP, I've been researching DD-WRT (open source firmware for home routers) the last few days, and it seems they offer a version with QOS services that include bandwidth throttling based on switch ports. www.dd-wrt.com . check it out.

    So you say you are using Cain and Abel on a pc that is attached to your router, to logically bridge all the connections ON your router, using only 1 network card? Something smells very fishy about that.

    Do any petitions or boycotts exist against starforce? Why would ubisoft be implementing it if it causes so many problems? Seems like theres nothing but negative feedback on it.
