    Oops, pin bends

In the same boat today. Though it's a used MB I just bought, rather than one I damaged myself. I used an empty mechanical pencil to straighten them out, then used a credit card to line them up. Still not %100 perfect. I can see a slight variance and my motherboard just endlessly cycles when...

    FS: Q6600 G0, 775 Mobo, 8800GT, DDR2 RAM, 500GB HD

I have no use for the ram, but you're under selling it. You could get 2-3x that on EBay. I should know, since I just bought 4gb at $16 per 2gb piece :p And lost several bids that went over $20

Piracy -- No longer an excuse imo

I think it's possible right now. Opera has a built in torrent client, and works on the Wii(though I don't own a Wii and don't know if that version has a built in client).

Piracy -- No longer an excuse imo

This. I'm against piracy... of good games. Diablo 3 - buy. Skyrim - buy. -_- Except active pirates in the West spend nearly 2x more than non-pirates. Oh my.

    Buying American... er

 Somebody needs a dictionary. My field isn't engineering, or network administration, it's economics. I just happen to be a computer nerd too. Outsourcing high level manufacturing and research is deleterious to any country's economy. Things aren't in a perpetual state of stagnation...

    Buying American... er

So something I've wondered about for a while on the pc front. Which companies are more US based vs non-US? I know Crucial and Mushkin on the memory front, but past that I'm clueless. Video cards, hard drive, PSUs, etc. I don't know if anyone else cares, but I prefer to do so when I'm...

    FS: Hardware/Odd Parts sale

Got my HD two days ago. I sent payment mid-day on Friday, and it was delivered by Tuesday. And Crosshairs is right. The packing was great. It probably could have survived a two story fall. Just finished full diagnostics and It's in perfect condition. Couldn't be happier :)

    FS: Hardware/Odd Parts sale

Sent PM about barracuda. Wish I could afford that SSD, lol. Less than $2 per gigabyte is a great deal for the Revo series.

    Comprehensive Speed List?

I think I was unclear in my first post. Rather than absolute top speed, I'm looking for decent speed from older drives. Edited my first post to be more clear.

    Comprehensive Speed List?

I was wondering if there's a comprehensive speed list of hard drives? Not burst speeds, as those are useless :p Seek times. Preferably ones that date back several years. Looking around the closest I can find are a few threads on other forums with a few dozen member tests. Mostly in Raid0.

rate all graphics cards manufacturers in here

Actually, it was one person saying MSI was bad, and he got his manufacturers mixed up with his claims about poor quality parts.

Thinking of upgrading just the Video for now. Recommendations?

If you're going i7 why not all the way with Crossfire? May need a PSU upgrade as well. But for gaming an i7 is a waste without a nice card setup. Edit: No SSD either? Disregard my above post, OP. We don't see eye to eye on building a system ;)

best video card for a 450Watt PSU?

Most 775 boards that can take a D, can take a Core 2 Duo. Whether his cpu is 533 or 800 doesn't matter, really. Nearly all 533 boards are also 800 compatible. Of course an 800fsb would limit him to about 2.6 ghz, but that's a huge upgrade from a D.
